Open the Settings app.

\r\nChoose Mobile Networks.
\r\nOn some Android phones, you may have to choose Battery & Data Manager and then Data Delivery.
\r\nRemove the check mark by the Data Roaming option.

Open the phones text messaging app.
\r\nEnsure that youre viewing the apps main screen, the one that lists all the conversations.
\r\nTouch the Back icon or the app icon in the upper-left corner of the screen until the apps main screen is displayed.
\r\nTouch the Action Overflow icon or Menu icon.
\r\nChoose the Settings or the Messaging Settings command.
\r\nRemove the check mark by the Auto-Retrieve or Roaming Auto-Retrieve command.
